About the role
- Applies mechanical engineering principles to design, develop, and support L3Harris FOS product lines
- Lead mechanical design efforts for assigned programs
- Develop and mature mechanical designs from concept through qualification and production release
- Generate and maintain engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation
- Define and support qualification and environmental testing (thermal, vibration, shock)
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and/or other analytical assessments
- Participate in failure investigations related to design, production builds, and fielded products
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or other related Engineering field
- Minimum 4 years of prior relevant work experience
- Experience with CAD (Solid Edge, SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and drawing standards
- Experience with design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA)
- Must be able to obtain a US Security Clearance
