About the role
- Responsible for mechanical design and analysis of complex opto-mechanical and electromechanical products from concept through to production using modern tools.
- Carry out complex and difficult engineering assignments requiring specialized engineering knowledge.
- Contribute to the definition of departmental best practices and design approaches.
- Provide technical or project related guidance and direction to other staff.
- Participate in design reviews as either a presenter or a reviewer.
- Support the verification and validation of new product designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Proficient user of FEA for static and dynamics analysis, preferably ANSYS
- Proficient user of a CFD analysis package, preferably ANSYS
- Proficient knowledge of a 3D CAD system, preferably SolidWorks
- Experience with Matlab or an equivalent mathematical application
- Well versed in mechanical dynamics and vibration
- Well versed in strength of materials and classical analysis methods
- Well versed in opto-mechanical design principles
- Well versed in machining, casting, sheet metal, and composites manufacturing techniques and processes
- Well versed in rapid prototyping techniques and methods
- Well versed in Materials Science
