About the role

  • Build, lead, and manage a cross-functional engineering team, consisting of mechanical, electrical, systems, and software engineers
  • Technical, cost, and schedule accountability for technical program execution
  • Manage contract change and all phases of the portfolio from capture to sustaining
  • Maintain a climate of fostering a high level of employee motivation, performance, and commitment
  • Review and approve estimate to complete (ETCs) of the engineering content of the program
  • Represent engineering with major customers and stakeholders through clear communication
  • Conduct trade studies to compare different hardware design options and select the most appropriate solutions
  • Perform critical analyses of subcomponents to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance
  • Provide guidance and support to achieve project goals including preliminary design, integration, and formal hardware/software qualification
  • Oversee CAM activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for the program
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of hardware, sub-assemblies, and software
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to system design, analysis, and testing
  • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project planning sessions
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices
  • Lead technical staff members to resolve issues
  • Support new business pursuits and proposal cost reviews to ensure proper technology readiness, Design to Cost, and resource alignment
  • Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 15 years of prior relevant experience
  • Graduate Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience leading development and integration test teams
  • Agile software development leadership experience
  • Software or Hardware Description Language (HDL) design and development experience
  • Earned Value Management experience in both budgeting and schedule planning
  • Model-based design experience, preferably with SysML using Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
