About the role
- Support strategic programs essential to maintaining U.S. Armed Forces’ readiness
- Contribute through supporting multiple project teams in the area of Laser Welding technologies
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in product design and process development
- Develop both weld and production processes, and procedures, for mechanical, electronic, and electro-mechanical assemblies
- Support production through operator training, process issue resolution, and evaluation of existing operations for opportunities to improve efficiency, first pass yield, and scrap rates
- Interact with customers, suppliers, and program teams to ensure products meet specified requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior Manufacturing Engineering experience
- Minimum 4 years experience in laser welding of Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Titanium
- Experience related to the fabrication or assembly of close tolerance mechanical, electronic, or electro-mechanical piece parts
- Must be able to obtain a US Secret level security clearance.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Welding Engineering (preferred)
- Six (6)+ years of industry experience in laser welding (preferred)
- Experience in Ultrasonic welding and Resistance welding (preferred)
- Experience in programming laser welding systems (preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) (preferred)
- Demonstrated skills and experience in drawing practices, engineering analysis, DoD development programs, procurement, integration, assembly, and test of hardware (preferred)
- Experience in the defense or aerospace industry (preferred)
- Experience with ANSI J-STD-001, AS9100, and ANSI Y14.5 (preferred)
- Experience with SolidEdge and Minitab (preferred)
- Experience with 6sig, 8D, CostPoint, TipQA (preferred)
