About the role
- Provides leadership to a department incorporating diverse technical/engineering disciplines to accomplish business goals and objectives in satellite communications products
- Directs and influences a cross-functional organization to meet customer and business requirements
- Develops, presents, and delivers comprehensive presentations to the project team, upper management, and customer personnel
- Designs, modifies, and evaluates a product from concept definition and planning through production and release
- Plans and manage schedules and budgets
- Ensures completion of the product/project on schedule and within budget constraints
- Develops and maintains all aspects of project-level risks
- Estimates resource and material needs for project/product
Requirements
- BS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields with 15 years of project engineering or related experience
- MS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields with 13 years of project engineering or related experience
- Ability to obtain US Security Clearance
- Experience with tactical very small aperture terminals (VSAT)
- Experience in leading product design & development efforts
- Experience in managing cross-functional / cross-discipline teams
- Secret security clearance desired
- Experience working proposals
- Experience supporting government customers
- Experience with design for test and design for manufacturability techniques
- Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action process and techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment.
- Experience with Satellite Communications
