About the role
- Contribute to the company’s success by supporting all aspects of the mechanical assembly process, assembly lines, and equipment for the Jefferson Road Operations Center
- Work effectively in a team environment and respond to operational support requests or perform proactive duties
- Report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and develop and maintain production processes
- Drive improvements in processes and provide structured problem-solving for production issues
- Create and maintain process documentation and work instructions
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to identify and implement process improvements
- Establish root cause and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods and tools
- Manage product & process change through participation in change control boards
- Support production validation builds on new/modified processes
- Interface with supplier and subcontractor representatives
- Define and implement production system standards, including staffing models, and provide training to Engineers and Technicians
- Monitor and analyze process data, identify trends and make recommendations for process improvements for new or existing product lines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in Manufacturing Engineering
- Highly motivated and driven self-starter who’s able to operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of manufacturing systems, production processes, technical standards, and assembly equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience with MS Office products like Word and Excel
- Electro-Mechanical Assembly process experience including fixture design, robotics/automation, and mechanical process equipment
- Lean Six Sigma training, preferably Yellow or Green Belt certification
- Experience with process improvement tools and methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S and PFMEA
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of process simulation software is a plus.
