About the role
- Gather, compose, and edit technical information to prepare flight manuals, maintenance manuals, and other technical documentation
- Communicate with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather information and understand technical specifications and requirements
- Compile and structure researched technical information for development of documentation
- Authoring/Generating content for illustrated parts catalogs/maintenance manuals/flight operation/mission systems/Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) documents
- Ensure that all documentation adheres to industry standards and best practices, as well as relevant DoD and FAA regulations and guidelines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of prior technical writing experience
- Graduate Degree with two (2) years of prior technical writing experience
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of prior technical writing experience in an Aerospace-driven environment or within the defense industry
- Demonstrated writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Active Secret Clearance at the time of hire
