About the role
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components.
- Create detailed electrical schematics and layouts using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Altium Designer).
- Perform electrical calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure robust and reliable designs.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, design reports, and test plans.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as mechanical and software engineers, to ensure integrated system designs.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and failure mode effects analyses (FMEAs) to validate design concepts.
- Oversee prototype fabrication, testing, and validation, including the interpretation of test data.
- Ensure designs meet all relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Prepare and present technical reports, design reviews, and project updates to stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and a minimum of 4 years of experience.
- Master's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
- Proven expertise in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Altium Designer).
- Strong knowledge of electrical standards, codes, and regulations.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB) and electrical analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
