About the role

  • Leads L.A. Care’s strategic giving, investments, innovation, and partnership work with the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer.
  • Manages and researches investment trends in strategic giving and broader investments that support L.A. Care’s business.
  • Ensures that investments and partnerships are aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Works with the analytics team on artificial intelligence (AI), emerging technologies and innovation opportunities.
  • Responsible for charting LA Care’s path in strategic investments, external partnerships, and impactful community giving.
  • Serves as a crucial bridge between organizational strategy and external collaboration.
  • Oversees a multi-million-dollar portfolio and works with internal operational teams.
  • Evaluates next-generation tools, fosters experimentation, and ensures responsible implementation that meets legal and ethical standards.
  • Directs all aspects of running an efficient team including hiring, supervising, coaching, training, and motivating direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.
  • At least 9 years of relevant experience in a health organization or managed care setting with government health programs, health policy, social service organizations and/or government.
  • At least 8 years leading staff or supervisory/management experience in a health organization or managed care setting, focusing on government health programs, health policies, social service organizations, etc.
  • Ability to perform both qualitative and quantitative analysis and research.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and strategic planning skills and a demonstrated ability to build strategic alliances are key.
  • Ability to make timely and effective decisions.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple initiatives in parallel as well as changing priorities.
  • Excellent organizational, technical writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships, fostering teamwork, and creating a positive work environment.
  • Strong strategic and operational acumen, with the ability to collaborate across business areas, anticipate analytic needs, and ensure alignment with enterprise priorities and transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
