About the role

  • Prepare decision-making materials (financial figures, reports, analyses)
  • Tax management, including VAT advance returns
  • Accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Assign accounting codes to documents by cost type and cost center, including invoice verification and posting
  • Prepare monthly closing entries as well as quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and contribute to budget planning
  • Monitor income and expenditure trends as well as accounts and incoming payments (including supplier, customer and general ledger accounts)
  • Plan and execute domestic and international payment transactions

Requirements

  • Vocational training as an industrial clerk (Industriekaufmann), tax clerk (Steuerfachangestellte) with further qualification in bookkeeping/accounting, or a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BWL) with a focus on Controlling or Finance, or similar qualifications
  • Several years of professional experience in financial accounting
  • Solid knowledge of accounting, tax law and commercial law (HGB)
  • Experience with monthly and annual closing procedures
  • Ability to organize efficient payment processes
  • Knowledge of accounting software (Sage or SAP advantageous)
