About the role

  • Design, code, and implement operations automation for z/OS using industry-standard automation tools
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize OPS/MVS automation rules, including event-driven AOF policies and OPS/REXX logic
  • Build NetView and System Automation (SA) rules, scripts, command lists, and automation tables
  • Automate IPL sequences, subsystem startup/shutdown, message handling, command routing, and resource state management
  • Install, configure, and maintain GDPS software, automation components, and associated scripts

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in mainframe systems engineering with a focus on automation
  • Strong hands-on experience with OPS/MVS rule design, AOF automation, and OPS/REXX scripting
  • NetView automation tables, command lists, and message processing
  • Proven experience installing, customizing, and maintaining GDPS software and automation scripts
  • Proficiency in REXX, including complex automation routines
  • Strong understanding of z/OS system commands, console operations, JES2/3, WLM, and subsystem lifecycle management
