About the role
- Shape and design APIs and SDKs that power embedded insurance and retirement benefits
- Design resilient systems and create developer-first experiences
- Partner closely with designers, engineers, integrations team, and benefit experts
- Take ownership end-to-end from technical architecture and system design to incident response
- Serve as an incident responder and drive continuous improvement of developer-facing APIs and docs
- Build and enhance products to scale Kota’s API and embed products
- Transform inefficient internal workflows into self-service features
- Lead technical efforts to resolve customer-reported issues as part of incident response
Requirements
- 8+ years in building backend systems
- Expertise in .NET (we use latest 8+)
- Experience with SQL databases
- Experience with ORM frameworks
- Experience with automated test frameworks
- Cloud experience with Azure/AWS
- Experience building API products in fintech, payroll, or benefits is a plus
- Experience collaborating directly with product teams and designers
- Proven track record of delivering value to customers or users
- Availability: At least 5 hours of overlap with GMT working hours
