About the role
- Exercises discretion and independent judgement in overseeing all aspects of budgeting for the fraternal departments
- Creates annual expense forecasts, tracks ongoing expenditures, performs variance analysis, and recommends midterm budget adjustments
- Briefs and advises all fraternal vice presidents and directors on budget preparations and required actions
- Interfaces for the fraternal departments with all financial departments including treasury, accounting, procurement, and payables
- Acts as fraternal liaison with approved vendors to coordinate procurement, inventories, pricing, shipping, deliveries and expected costs for new items and resources required for program initiatives
- Manages the production of fraternal resources and reference materials
- Coordinates content creation, graphic layout, translation, production, and delivery of resources needed for training, operations, recruitment, and evangelization
- Travels occasionally as Supreme Representative to state conventions and district meetings
- Supports Supreme conventions and State Deputy meetings
- Monitors budget adherence in real time throughout the fiscal year
- Reports projected overruns in a timely manner and recommends corrective actions
- Trains department managers on required budgetary procedures
- Assures the timely production, availability, and delivery of all required items
Requirements
- Knights of Columbus membership required
- Successful council officer and director experience required ideally including Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator, and District Deputy
- State officer experience is desired
- Knowledge of the Knights of Columbus culture, principles, laws, and practices
- Understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church and the ability to articulate them
- Analytical skills and strong organizational abilities
- High attention to detail
- Strong writing skills
- Strong public speaking skills and experience
- Excellent typing/word processing skills
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills
- Advanced Degree: Master of Business Administration
- 1-3 years related work experience or equivalent training and experience
- Authorization to work in the United States is required
