About the role

  • Team up with product managers and engineers to define and prioritize features based on user needs, market trends, and business goals.
  • Strong analytical thinker capable of breaking down complex problems into manageable, actionable components that deliver value incrementally.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of web standards, especially HTML and CSS and how they impact web accessibility.
  • Craft high-fidelity design mockups, interactive prototypes, and user interface specifications to bring your vision to life.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately and are user-friendly.
  • Provide design expertise and support in agile development processes, including sprint planning and user testing.
  • Facilitate continuous discovery methods such as user interviews, creating user-journey’s, opportunity exploration.
  • Plan and conduct user research, including usability testing, surveys, and interviews, to understand user behavior and needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and align UX strategies, turning insights into actionable design improvements.
  • Champion user-centered design methods and foster a deep understanding of user needs throughout Knak.
  • Lead design workshops, critiques, and story-mapping sessions to spark innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive design system for Knak's email marketing platform.
  • Define and document design principles, components, patterns, and guidelines to ensure consistent and delightful user experiences.
  • Work with product managers and engineers to integrate design system components into the development process.
  • Continuously refine and evolve the design system based on user feedback and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Product Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in designing user interfaces and experiences for web applications.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools like Figma, and use of any AI-based tools.
  • Great understanding of usability principles, user-centered design methodologies, and accessibility standards.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey design ideas and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good technical understanding of web standards, modern front-end frameworks (vue, react etc) and especially css (including experience using frameworks such as tailwind, bootstrap etc)
  • Experience with user research methodologies and a data-driven approach to design.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in email marketing or SaaS product design is a plus.
