Full-stack Engineer

• Participate in Kitware’s three-year Open Source Software Technology Program (OSTP) working on open-source projects
• Develop innovative open-source software platforms in computer vision, scientific computing, data and analytics, medical computing, and software solutions
• Gain technical and business knowledge and learn project leadership and funding acquisition skills
• Work 32 hours per week onsite at Clifton Park, NY during college semesters and approximately 40 hours per week onsite during summers
• Complete a Master’s degree while working; Kitware will reimburse 100% of educational expenses subject to tuition reimbursement payback requirements
• Be part of a team focused on open-source processes and technical leadership development

• Contribute to Kitware’s mission by applying AI to environmental monitoring, national/global security, ethical AI, open science, scientific and medical computing
• Develop robust solutions in Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models, foundation models, ML, and AI
• Develop and evaluate algorithms to understand textual and multimodal data and perform reasoning on extracted data
• Work on projects leveraging LLMs for information extraction, decision-making, reasoning, scenario generation, and combating disinformation
• Collaborate with government R&D agencies, commercial partners, and academic collaborators on research and development projects
• Support publication of novel work and engage in collaborative research

• Be part of Kitware's overall mission of positive social impact through environmental monitoring, national and global security, ethical AI, open science, scientific computing and medical computing.
• Develop tools and techniques for visualizing computer vision results.
• Improve quality control by developing software testing infrastructure (using CMake, CTest, etc.) and writing test cases for code.
• Run experiments of existing algorithms on large-scale datasets with various parameter settings, collect and organize results.
• Develop and operate tools to label objects, activities, and events that appear in images and video.
