About the role
- Lead and mentor a dynamic lease accounting team, fostering innovation and ensuring efficient work allocation, scheduling, and adherence to timelines.
- Manage hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to maintain a high-performing team.
- Design and implement streamlined lease accounting processes that enhance accuracy and efficiency across multiple portfolios.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of cash management, business plan forecasting, and budget development processes.
- Oversee the preparation and timely distribution of accurate operating and financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Compile and analyze data for managerial reports, including product line profitability, price realization, and allowance analysis.
- Coordinate and facilitate month-end and year-end close activities to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate lease accounting insights into broader financial planning and reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging advanced accounting software and emerging technologies, recommending and implementing improvements to accounting practices and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to evolving lease accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842, IFRS 16) while proactively identifying potential impacts on financial statements.
- Support the analysis and interpretation of financial and operational results to aid management planning and control.
- Develop comprehensive training programs to elevate team expertise and promote best practices in lease accounting.
- Assist in developing short- and long-term plans to address personnel, supply, and equipment requirements of the department.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior management on lease-related financial risks and opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in lease accounting or related financial supervisory roles.
- Proven experience in team leadership and supervisory responsibilities including hiring and performance management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budget forecasting.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive managerial reports.
- Experience managing month-end and year-end closing processes.
