About the role

  • Lead and mentor a dynamic lease accounting team, fostering innovation and ensuring efficient work allocation, scheduling, and adherence to timelines.
  • Manage hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Design and implement streamlined lease accounting processes that enhance accuracy and efficiency across multiple portfolios.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of cash management, business plan forecasting, and budget development processes.
  • Oversee the preparation and timely distribution of accurate operating and financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compile and analyze data for managerial reports, including product line profitability, price realization, and allowance analysis.
  • Coordinate and facilitate month-end and year-end close activities to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate lease accounting insights into broader financial planning and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging advanced accounting software and emerging technologies, recommending and implementing improvements to accounting practices and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to evolving lease accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842, IFRS 16) while proactively identifying potential impacts on financial statements.
  • Support the analysis and interpretation of financial and operational results to aid management planning and control.
  • Develop comprehensive training programs to elevate team expertise and promote best practices in lease accounting.
  • Assist in developing short- and long-term plans to address personnel, supply, and equipment requirements of the department.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior management on lease-related financial risks and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in lease accounting or related financial supervisory roles.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and supervisory responsibilities including hiring and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budget forecasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive managerial reports.
  • Experience managing month-end and year-end closing processes.
