About the role
- Perform dimensional and visual inspection for customer certification orders or quality critical inspection requirements
- Participate in Quality and Lean projects with cross-functional personnel
- Perform routine quality analysis, input data into computer system, maintain logs and other required paperwork. Maintain communication with all customer groups, group leader, and other technicians
- May be required to perform other tasks as needed within the scope of the Quality department as defined below
- Conduct customer certification inspections as required using defined inspection equipment including but not limited to manual gages, OGP and Keyence vision systems
- Conduct nondestructive examination (NDE) and quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc. at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality standards
- Record results of inspections as required
- May include in process inspections of inserts and physical property inspections
- Completion of standard SAP transactions to support material movement to and from the certification labs will be required
- Captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards
- Daily work is determined by structure and needs of the Operations, Materials and Quality groups.
- Performs specialized technical tasks required to support Quality
- Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignments.
- Must have a base knowledge of SAP or aptitude to be trained in the application
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Must be able to use required computer software including but not limited to SAP, Microsoft Office.
- 1-3 years of experience required.
- Requires vocational training or equivalent industry experience.
- Must be able to properly use gages and measurement devices that determine compliance to drawing and product specifications.
- Must be able to retrieve and read drawings.
- Must be able to read and understand insert identification chart, routings and operating procedures.
- Must be familiar and able to properly interpret insert defect criteria.
- Follows procedures/work instructions for conducting customer certifications.
- Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise.
- Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
