About the role
- Develop and implement HR strategy aligned with business growth objectives across multiple manufacturing sites in Spain
- Lead and manage a team of seven HR specialists including recruitment, payroll, and health & safety functions
- Build HR infrastructure and processes for new manufacturing sites
- Manage labour relations and serve as primary liaison with unions and works councils, ensuring compliance with Spanish labour legislation
- Develop and implement workforce planning strategies to support business growth and operational requirements
- Oversee health and safety compliance across multiple workshops, ensuring adherence to strict safety regulations and process compliance
- Manage both direct and indirect workforce relationships across production facilities
- Lead recruitment initiatives to support rapid business expansion and new site openings
- Develop and maintain employee relations strategies that support a productive, engaged, and compliant workforce
- Partner with the Global HR Director and senior leadership to drive organisational development and change management
- Ensure full compliance with Spanish employment law, health and safety regulations, and industry standards
Requirements
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 15 years of progressive HR experience, ideally as Site HR Lead in an industrial environment.
- Proven experience in manufacturing, industrial, or highly regulated environments (e.g., automotive, pharmaceutical, luxury goods)
- Demonstrated expertise in labour relations, including union negotiations and works council management
- Strong knowledge of Spanish labour law, health and safety regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience managing HR for 500+ employees across multiple sites
- Proven ability to build HR infrastructure and processes from the ground up
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing HR teams
- Fluency in Spanish (essential)
- Strong business partnering skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Credible, grounded, and discreet leadership style with ability to build trust as a partner to industrial leadership
- Willingness to relocate to southern Spain or maintain a regular presence.
