About the role

  • Architect, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines supporting automated build, test, and deployment workflows.
  • Develop reusable GitLab pipeline templates and integrate automated security scanning, artifact management, and quality gates.
  • Continuously improve pipeline performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Build and optimize Docker or Docker-equivalent (OCI-compatible) container images for development, testing, and production workloads.
  • Manage container registries, image versioning, and security best practices.
  • Develop automated build environments using container-native tooling (Docker, Podman, Buildah, etc.).
  • Support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) workflows using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and orchestration using tools such as Ansible.
  • Integrate build and release automation into cloud-hosted and hybrid environments.
  • Troubleshoot CI/CD issues, container build problems, and environment inconsistencies.
  • Provide expert support to software teams during build failures and deployment troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate, high-quality documentation of pipelines, container standards, and automation patterns.
  • Work across engineering teams to implement DevOps best practices.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Recommend process improvements and automation enhancements to increase delivery velocity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of DevOps or automation engineering experience , including CI/CD and containerization.
  • Expert-level proficiency with GitLab CI/CD .
  • Strong experience creating, optimizing, and securing Docker or equivalent containers.
  • Experience with AWS services and cloud-native automation patterns.
  • Scripting proficiency (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
  • Strong understanding of automation security, cloud networking, and DevOps best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
  • AWS certifications (Developer, DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty, etc.).
  • Experience with event-driven architectures (Lambda, EventBridge, SNS/SQS).
  • Familiarity with government contracting environments and clearance processes.
  • Experience with cost optimization (FinOps).
