• Conduct targeted outreach to enterprise-level organizations to identify and qualify leads for KatRisk’s solutions.
• Leverage a mix of cold outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn) and marketing-driven campaigns to engage decision-makers in insurance, reinsurance, financial services, and related sectors.
• Research and understand prospect industries, business models, and challenges to tailor messaging and spark meaningful conversations.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified enterprise opportunities, maintaining accurate records and activities in the CRM.
• Collaborate closely with Account Executives to strategically align outreach with deal cycles, account plans, and territory goals.
• Partner with Marketing to refine outbound messaging and campaigns that resonate with technical and business stakeholders.
• Schedule discovery meetings and support pre-sales activities by gathering relevant insights and documenting account intelligence.

Backend Engineer

• Own & evolve the core C++ modeling system: Maintain, refactor, and enhance an established codebase that drives large-scale peril specific loss simulations with complex financial modelling.
• Implement new catastrophe risk and financial models as they are designed.
• Modernize the stack: Refactor legacy components toward a modular, containerized architecture with improved deployment automation.
• Data-driven simulation accuracy: Work with historical and meteorological datasets to ensure scientifically sound, reproducible results in partnership with our Science team.
• Performance & reliability at scale: Profile and optimize an I/O-intensive architecture to meet strict enterprise SLAs.
• Guide integration: With APIs and visualization components to support new user experiences.

Engineering Lead – Catastrophe Risk Modelling Platform, C++

Risk

• Develop, calibrate, and maintain catastrophe models for perils such as wildfire, flood, wind, earthquake, and other natural hazards.
• Collect, analyze, and process large data sets from clients as well as national and international sources.
• Design and implement data pipelines to process large geospatial and temporal datasets from multiple sources. Build complex statistical models using geospatial statistical methods, machine learning, and other modeling techniques.
• Collaboratively write code to manipulate and analyze large and complex numeric and geospatial data sets.
• Rigorously evaluate the built models for their performance and validate them with respect to historical data.
• Write clear documentation of implemented methodologies, justifying critical steps and assumptions.
• Present model results and data analysis findings to team members and clients with diverse scientific and statistical backgrounds.
• Utilize the KatRisk Software Suite and interpret results for clients and internal studies.

• KatRisk is a leading provider of catastrophe risk modeling solutions, helping organisations understand, manage, and mitigate natural disaster risks.
• Support client usage and development of KatRisk's catastrophe risk models, gaining exposure to various perils, geographies, and models.
• Work with geospatial datasets for use in catastrophe risk modeling workflows.
• Assist clients by answering support questions related to geospatial data formats, content, and usage.
• Perform quality control checks on incoming and processed data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain clear documentation for geospatial datasets, transformation processes, and metadata.
• Convert customer-provided datasets into KatRisk’s internal formats, ensuring data integrity and compatibility.
• Support model validation efforts by preparing data inputs and comparing/packaging outputs.
• Research and acquire new geospatial datasets to improve model coverage and resolution.
