About the role
- Strategic and operational overall responsibility for production planning, including leading and developing the logistics and SCM teams
- Organize and oversee national and international goods shipments, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness and compliance with all relevant supply chain requirements
- Manage inventory control and delivery monitoring for raw materials, semi-finished goods and finished products, including optimization of lead times and transportation costs
- Negotiate, structure and review supplier contracts and carrier invoices; solicit and evaluate pricing terms and freight quotes
- Develop and implement KPI-driven logistics processes as well as digitization and automation projects
- Close collaboration with internal interfaces — production, sales and purchasing — and act as the contact person for external partners, freight forwarders, carriers and logistics service providers
Requirements
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field
- Several years of professional experience in a comparable leadership role, ideally within the automotive sector
- Strong leadership skills demonstrated by the ability to motivate employees and lead in a goal-oriented way
- Team player with a hands-on mentality and an entrepreneurial way of thinking and acting
- Strong communication and organizational skills for cross-site internal collaboration as well as cooperation with external partners
- Knowledge of customs and ERP systems, and fluent German and English skills
