About the role
- Performs a variety of engineering duties including understanding customer applications, identifying issues and generating solutions, and designing, researching, and prototyping new products.
- Responsibilities include designing new products, identifying areas for improvement with existing products, maintaining high levels of product quality as well as ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards.
- Work on a wide range of projects across various equipment.
- Perform lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, oversee manufacture and implement).
- Design product and application solutions that meet customer needs and requirements and improve customer work experience.
- Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to improve production efficiency and emerging problems.
- Use design software to develop models and drawings of new products and manufacturing methods.
- Develop, test, and assess all engineering prototypes to determine analyze data, interpret results, issues and/or risks.
- Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability, and safety.
- Maintain existing engineering records including research and activity documentation, preparing product reports, and designs.
- Estimate budget and scope of projects.
- Coordinate with other engineers, product managers, and oversee the manufacturing process of designs.
- Develop detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow.
- Ensure products comply with safety standards and legal regulations; and adhere to internal employee and health/safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods.
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- At least four (4) years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, and product development.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration and leading project execution in an engineering environment.
- Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAE) and proficiency in 2D/3D design and manufacturing tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar platforms.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven record of collaboration across cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present comprehensive technical documentation, design reports, and engineering review materials.
