About the role
- Lead. Install. Repair. Support
- As a Lead Technical Field Sales Lead Technician, you will be the face of JPW’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
- Travel to customer locations to install and repair Baileigh branded Metal Forming and Chip Making equipment, applying deep knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and programming.
- Review work orders, blueprints, and schematic diagrams to plan repair and installation tasks.
- Test wiring, switches, and relays, using diagnostic instruments, and replacing faulty components to ensure full operational readiness.
- Perform on-site repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance, ensuring timely response to customer needs.
- Work directly with customer representatives to verify installation requirements and provide expert guidance on equipment operation, performance, and safety.
- Conduct training sessions for customer teams, Authorized Service Centers (ASCs), and Baileigh Technicians to enhance technical knowledge and maintenance capabilities.
- Assist customers via phone or video troubleshooting for return/repair issues, ensuring efficient problem resolution and minimal downtime.
- Support revenue generation through service engagements, installations, and training services that enhance the customer experience and create long-term partnerships.
- Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Customer Service teams to identify technical opportunities, improve service processes, and provide feedback on product performance in the field.
- Lead responsibility for our Technical support team in day-to-day tasks and decision making alongside the department manager.
Requirements
- Technical degree or equivalent experience in electrical, mechanical, or industrial technology.
- 3+ years of experience in field service, equipment installation, or technical repair in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Experience in leading and guiding a small customer-facing team in repairs and service.
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and programming. Knowledge in Metal Working machinery a plus.
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex machinery and systems using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision instruments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and support customers effectively.
- Resourceful and analytical, with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently both on-site and remotely.
- Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally for installations, repairs, and training engagements.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner across departments to deliver exceptional service and technical excellence.
