About the role
- Supporting on-site the commissioning activities under the supervision of senior engineers
- Assisting with field inspections of mechanical, electrical, control and monitoring systems
- Documenting test results and maintaining commissioning records
- Participating in commissioning meetings and recording meeting notes
- Helping prepare commissioning deliverables such as checklists and test procedures
- Learning and applying commissioning standards (ASHRAE, CSA)
- Conducting basic testing and verification activities with guidance
- Supporting the development and maintenance of project documentation
- Contributing to issue tracking and resolution processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related technical field
- 0-3 years of experience in data center systems, construction, or related field
- Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Willingness to learn and apply technical concepts
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel regularly to local project sites and up to 30% to other locations outside the Chicago metro area
- Desire to grow professionally in the commissioning field
