About the role

  • Serves as a technical expert on Process Safety issues supporting complex challenges at site, sector and enterprise level.
  • Provides customer service related to problem solving, incident investigations and urgent response on request.
  • Develops and deploys a Global Process Safety, Fire and Explosion strategy and tactics to close compliance gaps in existing process safety and associated fire and explosion prevention programs and ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Develops, deploys and reviews Process Safety and related Fire & Explosion, and Emergency Planning & Response (EP&R) prevention standards, guidelines and tools that provide value for the business.
  • Connects and leverages other company Process Safety Experts through the PSM and Emergency Planning & Response Core Teams; Supports Governance Structure and Process Safety Delivery Model.
  • Develops, delivers and reviews guidance and training solutions related to Process Safety, Fire & Explosion Prevention and Emergency Planning & Response.
  • Communicates updates via different leadership and technical channels.
  • Establishes and monitors key PSM and EHS metrics, providing analysis and reporting to the Director PSM & IH as well as Senior Leaders (including General Managers, Manufacturing Platform Leaders, EHS&S leaders, Legal, etc.).
  • Coordinates, supports and leads the various PSM governance processes.
  • Coaches, mentors and develop less experienced employees with PSM, Fire and explosion, and EP&R prevention responsibilities.
  • Support resource model and individual development plan.
  • Data management: supporting the implementation and improvement of Process Safety Data Management Systems, performing trend analysis using Tableau, Curve Data Gathering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related EHS discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Process Safety Management (PSM), with demonstrated success leading PSM programs at site, multi‑site, and/or divisional level.
  • Experience within the Pharmaceutical and/or MedTech industry strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in PSM and Fire & Explosion prevention, including the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements, assess risk, close compliance gaps, and clearly translate requirements into practical business actions.
  • Proven ability to interface effectively with regulators, facility management, engineering, and cross‑functional stakeholders, providing clear recommendations and negotiating successful outcomes.
  • Excellent project management capabilities, including leading cross‑functional teams, managing schedules and budgets, developing dashboards, tracking metrics, and balancing multiple priorities.
  • Highly effective communicator and influencer with excellent English verbal and written communication skills; able to explain complex topics clearly to audiences at all levels.
  • Strong collaborator and team player, with demonstrated success in a matrixed, global, and cross‑cultural environment.
  • Demonstrated experience building PSM competency and awareness through training, coaching, public speaking, and presentations.
  • Proven success in coaching, mentoring, and developing less experienced PSM professionals.
  • Highly organized with strong planning, prioritization, and time‑management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with integrity and Credo‑based principles, acting as a servant leader, fostering trust, ethical behavior, and a culture of quality, compliance, and accountability.
