About the role

  • Lead strategic alliances within the Oncology therapeutic area (TA) of Innovative Medicine
  • Leading post-deal and day-to-day alliance activities to shape and achieve the strategic objectives of the alliance
  • Establishing clear communication lines across the partnership
  • Anticipating and resolving potential issues
  • Negotiating ancillary agreements and amendments
  • Ensure the highest quality relationship possible
  • Assign specific alliances within Oncology
  • Lead partnership integration through launch, direction and strategic shifts, and enhancements
  • Implement Alliance Management programmatic processes and tools appropriate to the scope and needs of the alliance
  • Participate as a member of the joint R&D and commercial project teams
  • Foster coordination and alignment of all internal and external partners
  • Openly, proactively, and clearly communicate across all lines of the partnership including Senior Management
  • Monitor the progress of the contract obligations and milestones
  • Effectively monitor the satisfaction of the partner
  • Provide input during pre-deal negotiations

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree required
  • An advanced degree (MS, MBA, Ph.D., etc.) in a scientific, technical or commercial field is preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years related experience, working in a scientific, technical or commercial organization is required
  • Experience developing and managing timelines, budgets and similar details on multiple large-scale projects or in a significant line capacity is required
  • Experience in managing and working in a team environment is required
  • Proven ability to mobilize and align diverse groups across multiple functions and companies to build interdependent partnerships
  • Understanding of drug development is required
  • Demonstrated strengths in problem solving, negotiation, and decision making
  • Experience in working with senior levels within the organization
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to manage complexities, think strategically and exercise good judgment.
