About the role

  • Establishing a robust Strategic Capacity Management (SCM) capability is a top priority for Orthopedics, to drive Profitable Growth.
  • The Strategic Planning process consists of a demand and supply component, preceding all processes under IBP.
  • The demand component is the input to the SCM process, called "Long Range Portfolio Plan" or LRPP, and is owned by Global Strategic Marketing.
  • SCM looks at long-term supply constraints that may limit growth, including internal manufacturing sites/assets, external vendors, raw material supply, sterilization, transportation and warehousing capacity.
  • You'll be empowered to collaborate to ensure our network capacity can support patient needs in the long-term.
  • The Senior Manager, Strategic Capacity Management, will drive the SCM process, embedded within the Orthopedics PLAN organization and reporting to the MedTech Global SCM Leader.
  • This position will lead the Orthopedics SCM team, who will drive and evaluate long-term supply chain scenarios in the 3 to 10 year horizon.
  • The process will be key to identifying critical demand and supply imbalances, and providing insights and recommendations, so that major business decisions can be driven by Value Stream Leaders.
  • These decisions can range from small operational changes to free up "trapped capacity", or multi-million-dollar investments.
  • As the SCM leader of the Orthopedics business, you'll be a part of MedTech's Integrated Business Management team, within MedTech's Global Supply Chain team, benefiting from community experience across MedTech SCM owners, Process and System owners.
