About the role
- Lead end-to-end demand planning for orthopedic product portfolios (implants, instruments, disposables), ensuring accurate and timely forecasts supporting the monthly IBP and Financial Business Planning cycles.
- Lead the monthly demand review and IBP demand inputs; facilitate demand consensus between commercial, marketing, supply planning and finance.
- Lead forecasting processes for new product introductions (NPI), product phase-outs, and promotional activity; partner with commercialization teams to define deployment plans and replenishment strategies.
- Develop and maintain demand models that incorporate procedure volume data, market events, and non-revenue demand drivers.
- Drive continuous improvement of forecasting accuracy via statistical forecasting tools, scenario planning, root-cause analysis of forecast variance, and process standardization.
- Define and supervise key performance indicators (KPIs) such as MAPE, Bias and demand tracking signals for both revenue and non-revenue demand streams.
- Prepare and present demand insights, forecast trends, risk scenarios, and mitigation plans to senior leadership.
- Lead or provide required support to the Constraint Management Process.
- Coach and mentor demand planning team members; establish process standards, documentation, and governance across the demand lifecycle.
- Partner with analytics and IT to implement and optimize planning tools and relevant data sources.
- Supports other initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and/or University degree is required; focused degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
- An advanced degree or relevant certification (CPIM, CSCP, APICS) is preferred.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional work experience.
- Related experience in one or more of the following areas within the medical device industry: Demand Planning, Production Planning, Supply Planning.
- DP / ERP Systems experience.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills — able to explain complex demand scenarios and trade-offs to leadership.
- Strong analytical skills.
