About the role
- Lead global, cross-functional, multidisciplinary Value Chain Teams (VCTs), with full accountability for New product introduction strategy and execution in coordination with the Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) & Global Commercial Teams (GCTs)
- Ensure IMSC deliverables to accomplish CMC milestones are met
- Initial sourcing of the product, and future sourcing sites as necessary
- Develop the Product Strategy Roadmap, preparing the business cases for Life Cycle Management (LCM) prioritization
- Communicate business cases to stakeholders to secure funding
- Champion the commercialization of the best, optimized product, process, and supply chain at launch
- Build strong interdependent partnerships and communicate effectively with key stakeholders in Discovery, Pharmaceutical Development and Supply (DPDS)
- Represent IMSC in CMC teams as well as in Compound Development Teams, Global Commercial Teams
- Mentor and provide feedback to VCT members and their functional management on performance within the VCT
- Drive innovative approaches & concepts, embedding Faster Forward principles and customer centricity in his/her Team’s activities
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline is required
- An advanced technical degree (MSc, PhD) or an MBA degree in a scientific or engineering discipline, advanced technical degree is preferred
- Minimum of 12 years Broad Supply Chain Operations and/or R&D experience
- Deep understanding of API/DP Operations and Manufacturing, Technical Transfers, New Product Development and introduction, Quality and Regulatory, in pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar industry
- Experience leading a portfolio of complex products/projects with a proven track record of delivering results and leading multifunctional, ‘virtual’ and global teams to success
- Understanding of business requirements and supply chain product metrics, proven ability to improve supply chain metrics
- Ability to prepare cost benefit analyses and articulate business cases for stakeholders’ approvals, make sound business and customer centric decisions
- Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries through influence, negotiation and partnering
- Strong written and oral communication skills at all levels (English)
