About the role
- The Associate Account Executive (AAE) position is a sales development role.
- The position is designed to improve the knowledge and skill set of high potential individuals as it relates to cataract device sales with the goal of moving into a sales role in the Commercial Sales organization.
- The AAE will be assigned to a district and work closely with a Senior or Principal Account Executive.
- The AAE will also cover vacant territories within the region as needed and may be called upon to cover vacant territories in another region based on business needs.
- Provide technical product knowledge and in-service support to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage a budget for travel and expenses as well as for the territory.
- Demonstrate an independent, creative, and consultative/value-based sales approach to selling Intraocular Lens (IOLs), Phaco equipment, viscoelastics and surgical adjuncts.
- Prepare and provide detailed sales/procedural/financial presentations to new and existing customers.
Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
- One to three years of any sales experience or three to five years med tech professional experience
- Required to meet all grade requirements in all steps of the program
- A valid driver's license in one of the 50 United States is required
- The ability to work as part of sales team and support company goals and sales objectives is required
- Relocation within the region after STEP graduation and determined by business need
- The ability to travel (up to 75%) which may include overnight / weekend travel is required
- Surgical O.R. or ophthalmic industry experience is a plus
