About the role
- Design fire alarm systems for commercial projects, serving as design lead and guiding CAD Support Technicians
- Ensure code compliance, develop technical submissions, and support project execution from design through commissioning
- Lead design efforts and coordinate with CAD teams
- Review and optimize system designs for compliance and efficiency
- Prepare detailed drawings, calculations, and bill of materials
- Support Project Managers and field teams with technical guidance
- Attend design and coordination meetings
- Mentor CAD Support Technicians and ensure quality of deliverables
- Track project hours and ensure alignment with estimates
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with NFPA 72 and fire alarm systems
- Strong design, estimating, and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reading architectural/electrical diagrams
- Ability to obtain necessary licenses
- Full-time availability
- 5+ years in Fire/Security system design (preferred)
- NICET Level II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems (preferred)
- Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical, or Drafting (AutoCAD), or equivalent experience (preferred)
