About the role

  • Design fire alarm systems for commercial projects, serving as design lead and guiding CAD Support Technicians
  • Ensure code compliance, develop technical submissions, and support project execution from design through commissioning
  • Lead design efforts and coordinate with CAD teams
  • Review and optimize system designs for compliance and efficiency
  • Prepare detailed drawings, calculations, and bill of materials
  • Support Project Managers and field teams with technical guidance
  • Attend design and coordination meetings
  • Mentor CAD Support Technicians and ensure quality of deliverables
  • Track project hours and ensure alignment with estimates

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with NFPA 72 and fire alarm systems
  • Strong design, estimating, and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reading architectural/electrical diagrams
  • Ability to obtain necessary licenses
  • Full-time availability
  • 5+ years in Fire/Security system design (preferred)
  • NICET Level II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical, or Drafting (AutoCAD), or equivalent experience (preferred)
