Serve as a secondary point of contact, following the Director of Safety and Security, for the school administration regarding campus safety and security operations
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to other Campus Security Officers (CSOs) assigned to the school
Mentor new and existing CSOs, providing coaching, feedback, and on-the-job training as needed
In coordination with the onsite Director of Safety and Security, monitor and coordinate daily security operations to ensure full coverage and effective response
Act as first responder to all campus emergencies, medical and criminal, that could potentially be hazardous and/or life threatening
Conduct regular inspection tours of campus facilities and grounds to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with safety standards (will require walking and standing for extended periods)
Oversee enforcement of campus policies and procedures relating to safety and security concerns
Assist in and oversee investigations of incidents on school campus, including reviewing camera footage, interviewing witnesses, and preparing accurate reports
Coordinate and communicate effectively with local law enforcement agencies
Support school administrators in addressing safety concerns and recommending improvements to security protocols
Oversee traffic flow and parking control on campus grounds as needed
Manage campus access, ensuring only authorized persons are admitted while maintaining a welcoming environment
Assist with scheduling and ensure that all campus security responsibilities are covered
Provide informal awareness education and safety information to students and employees
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Must have a valid DC SPO license that can be transferred over to Joffe
Ability to be away/ off personal phone for duration of shift; with the exception of scheduled breaks or emergencies
Able to provide at least 2 professional references
At least 3 years of consistent security experience
Comfortable working independently
Experience working with children (preferred but not required)
Customer Service experience required
Must be able to read and write English fluently
Be comfortable working in fluctuating work settings (sitting, standing, outdoors and/or be exposed to inclement weather conditions)
