About the role
- The lawyer will practice litigation in Indigenous (Aboriginal) law
- Participate in the development and implementation of legal and litigation strategies
- Conduct legal research
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, and court filings
- Meet with witnesses and prepare evidence
- Conduct oral advocacy
- Prepare for and attend trials
Requirements
- More than 7 years of litigation experience
- Experience appearing before the Superior Court of Québec and the Federal Court
- Strong advocacy and oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, interpretive, research, and drafting skills
- Proficiency in civil procedure
- Proven negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively in a team
- Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec
- Bilingual (French/English)
