About the role

  • Support endowment accounting activities, including processing contributions and distributions.
  • Perform reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and accurate fund activity.
  • Assist with audit preparation and accounting operations for the Foundation for Jewish Day Schools.
  • Process daily/weekly banking and check deposit activity for various endowment and philanthropic funds.
  • Enter contributions into the endowment platform and communicate with the platform team regarding contribution activity.
  • Perform accurate stock valuation calculations for contributions received through stock transfers.
  • Maintain spreadsheet logs for daily contributions by asset pool.
  • Ensure proper documentation/support for all contribution processing activities.
  • Process monthly/quarterly interest checks on Israel Bonds and analyze for appropriate funds.
  • Reconcile monthly endowment contribution reports.
  • Analyze credit card fees for cost recovery and prepare necessary journal entries.
  • Structure recurring credit card contributions and coordinate with Donor Services.
  • Reconcile endowment exchange account and request wire transfers.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of accounting or finance related experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative and willingness to work as part of the core finance team, as well as cross-functionally.
  • Strong understanding of and practical experience with business tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Adobe.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct a plus.
