About the role
- Lead and manage all aspects of a manufacturing workcell, including production planning, scheduling, execution, and resource allocation.
- Drive operational excellence through the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and best practices.
- Ensure the workcell consistently meets or exceeds key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Manage and develop a team of direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture, providing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, quality, and other departments to resolve production issues and optimize processes.
- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of equipment within the workcell, ensuring optimal uptime and reliability.
- Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Analyze production data, identify trends, and develop actionable plans to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Participate in new product introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring a smooth transition from design to full-scale production.
- Manage budgets and control costs within the workcell, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, providing regular updates on workcell performance and challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics manufacturing or a similar high-volume industry.
- Proven track record of success in managing manufacturing operations and achieving operational excellence.
- Strong understanding and practical application of lean manufacturing methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen).
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
