About the role
- Identify and assess new fraud scenarios such as identity theft (impersonation), social engineering, and account takeover (ATO).
- Formulate and adapt the operational fraud strategy specifically for the German market to maintain an optimal balance between risk and conversion.
- Design efficient technical verification processes that protect the business without creating unnecessary friction for our customers.
- Take responsibility for the operational review of fraud tasks and suspected cases.
- Collaborate with tech and data teams to develop and implement automated detection mechanisms, including AI and machine-learning models as well as rule-based systems.
- Evaluate, select, and implement innovative external technologies to optimize our fraud prevention tools.
- Develop and lead training programs for our operations teams to raise awareness of fraud cases.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional experience in fraud management or a related compliance area, ideally with a focus on third-party fraud.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into concrete prevention measures.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively in agile, cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Experience evaluating and implementing innovative technical solutions for fraud prevention (bonus).
- Understanding of the technical implementation of automated fraud solutions (bonus).
- Experience in the German fintech sector or in digital lending (bonus).
