About the role

  • - Accurately enter and review transactions in QuickBooks
  • - Reconcile bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
  • - Understand how balance sheet and income statement accounts are impacted by transactions
  • - Identify when account balances appear incorrect, unusual, or unreasonable
  • - Investigate discrepancies by determining where differences originated and why
  • - Research long-standing or uncleared transactions and determine appropriate next steps
  • - Identify issues such as duplicate, missing, or misposted transactions
  • - Use QuickBooks reports, registers, audit trails, and prior periods to research posting questions
  • - Propose and implement practical, time-efficient solutions to resolve discrepancies
  • - Communicate findings, questions, and resolutions clearly with team members

Requirements

  • - Prior bookkeeping or accounting data entry experience
  • - Working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • - Basic understanding of balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • - Ability to recognize when something doesn’t look correct and investigate further
  • - Strong attention to detail while maintaining speed and efficiency
  • - Ability to work independently and use judgment before escalating questions
  • - Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • - Ability to learn quickly and apply feedback constructively
  • - Familiarity with payroll and payroll taxes and how they appear on financial statements is advantageous
