About the role
- Track and analyze federal and state legislation and political developments
- Conduct background research for policy development and advocacy strategies
- Propose ideas for research-related written products and assist with fact-checking
- Create and maintain datasets and databases for policy objectives
- Support planning for policy events and contribute to strategic priorities
Requirements
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in policy research, advocacy, legislative tracking, political science, government, journalism, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
- Experience drafting policy and/or research products
- Strong research abilities, including source evaluation and synthesis of qualitative and quantitative information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and comfortability with spreadsheets
- Experience using statistical programming tools (such as R or Stata) is a plus
