Application Engineer

• Lead development of technical proposals supporting the sales process, including conceptual and detailed system designs.
• Review customer RFPs and translate requirements into system configurations, layouts, and performance expectations.
• Ensure proposals incorporate optimal equipment selection for batteries, inverters, transformers, MV/LV switchgear, breakers, capacitor banks, site‑wide UPS, and associated BOS equipment.
• Perform and/or oversee key electrical engineering calculations including load flow, short‑circuit, and arc‑flash analyses.
• Review and approve single‑line diagrams, layouts, schematics, cable sizing, and other engineering deliverables.
• Benchmark new technologies, evaluate supplier offerings, and integrate new components into baseline system designs.
• Lead the component qualification process for batteries, inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
• Work closely with drafting, engineering, supply chain, sales, and project management to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and manufacturability of proposed solutions.
• Support RFIs, customer technical discussions, and contract exhibit preparation.
• Direct, plan, and manage application engineering and drafting resources to maximize efficiency, output quality, and consistency.
• Mentor and develop engineers, providing technical guidance and driving continuous improvement.
• Continuously enhance customer‑facing materials, internal engineering standards, and proposal automation tools.
• Establish and track KPIs on proposal throughput, accuracy, and efficiency
• Present solutions, system designs, and technical differentiators to customers.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert on Company’s BESS platform and system architecture.

Applications Engineering Manager

Engineer

• The Power Electronics Controls & Modeling Engineer is a hands-on technical role focused on the analysis, simulation, and validation of Company’s next-generation Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) platform.
• Reporting to the Power Electronics and Modeling Manager, this engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining high-fidelity simulation models to verify system performance, stability, and grid code compliance.
• You will support the development of advanced control algorithms (Grid Forming & Grid Following) and serve as the primary validation resource, running complex scenarios to ensure our external design partners meet our rigorous technical requirements.

Lead Power Electronics Controls and Modeling Engineer

Full-stack Engineer

• The Embedded Software Engineer reports to the EMS Software Manager and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining embedded firmware system logic within the company’s energy storage systems (ESS) for battery management, power conversion systems, and more.
• This includes working with internal and external stakeholders to understand and refine implementations of the layer 2 and layer 3 Battery Management Systems (BMS) for the ESS systems.
• It is essential that decisions be made to ensure safety, quality, reliability, and maintainability of such implementations.
• Provide expertise and support to services, project execution, and application engineering team.
• Develop and deploy product and application documentation and assist in the benchmarking and evaluation of new technologies, solutions, or suppliers for integration into our offering.
• This position will specifically focus on Utility scale energy storage solutions with the integration of batteries, inverters, and balance of plant equipment required in a battery power plant.

Embedded Software Engineer, EMS

• Design, develop, and configure PSCAD models for supporting Power Plant Controller (PPC) deployments.
• Create PPC models in PSCAD and test responses to closely model the responses from field measurements.
• Lead 3rd party PSCAD study efforts by creating PPC control loop specification drawings.
• Improve PPC and Inverter models.
• Develop and maintain design, solution, and component specifications.
• Collaborate with the HIL Engineer on Typhoon HIL simulation project files.
• Assist in hardware devices connected to the HIL testbed and deploy TCP/Modbus or C37.112 PMU servers or clients.
• Assist in battery power plant (BPP) Commissioning operations efforts.

Simulation Engineer, EMS

• The AI Application Engineer acts as a "Force Multiplier" for the engineering and operations teams.
• Reporting to the CTO (Chief Technology Officer), this role bridges the gap between hardware design, software execution, and field delivery.
• You will be responsible for building practical, high-impact automation tools that eliminate manual drudgery.
• This includes developing AI-assisted workflows (RAG pipelines), automating CAD/BOM generation, and creating intelligent field support agents.
• Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Workflow Scripting: Develop Python-based tools to automate the generation of 2D installation drawings (GA layouts, conduit entries) and site-specific Bills of Materials (BOMs) to reduce human error.
• Technical Assistants (RAG): Build and maintain "Design Standard" chatbots utilizing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to help engineers quickly query complex codes (UL 9540, NFPA 855, IEEE 693) with strict accuracy guardrails.
• Logistics Optimization: Collaborate with logistics teams to build data-driven tools that optimize container weight and shipping configurations during the design phase.
• Automation Playbooks: Develop process for generating Automation Playbooks for software and firmware deployment and configuration (e.g. using Ansible or similar technology) of on-premises systems.
• Industrial System Code Generation: Develop process for generating Structured Text language from modbus maps for use with Codesys.
• Next-Gen Documentation: Move beyond static PDFs by creating pipelines that automatically assemble dynamic O&M manuals and commissioning checklists from engineering data sources.
• Field Support Agents: Prototype and deploy "Q&A" agents that allow field technicians to query torque specs, installation procedures, and troubleshooting steps via natural language.
• Feedback Loops: Create data pipelines that capture field evidence (logs, photos) and systematically feed that data back to the design team to improve future product iterations.
• Digitized Commissioning: Build tooling to generate, validate, and track precommissioning checklists and power-up sequences.
• Data Virtualization: Standardize fleet operational data to ensure it is formatted correctly for future machine learning analysis and model validation.
