Contribute to the design, coding, and testing of CAMP features under the guidance of senior engineers.
Support integration of CAMP with other Department of State systems, focusing on reliability and compliance.
Write and maintain testable, accessible code that meets federal cybersecurity and Section 508 accessibility standards.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) to align with team goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teammates, product managers, designers, DevOps, to deliver sprint commitments.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues, escalating as needed to senior staff.
Continuously develop technical skills by learning modern DevSecOps practices (CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code).
Requirements
Public Trust Clearance or higher (ability to obtain and maintain required background investigation).
2+ years of related experience in software engineering, development, or systems integration.
Basic knowledge of at least one modern programming language (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, C#).
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred) or eagerness to learn.
Understanding of RESTful APIs and web development fundamentals.
Interest in learning secure coding, accessibility, and Agile/DevOps practices.
Current authorization to work with the Department of State or other federal agencies.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
