About the role

  • Oversee the end-to-end operational delivery of Intrepid trips across the global country office network.
  • Build leader capability and support country offices to maintain strong operational performance.
  • Embed global standards and systems, driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead safety, risk, and incident management, ensuring protection for travelers, leaders, and partners.
  • Help shape global and regional operational strategy, policy, and best practices.
  • Mentor and empower operations managers to ensure guidance and support are provided effectively.
  • Take a lead role in incident management, overseeing serious and major incidents.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated operational and/or relevant business experience within a DMC environment or comparable setting.
  • Proven experience in incident management and operational risk response.
  • Experience operating at a senior management level, with responsibility for leadership and decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capability, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in operational implementation and end-to-end product delivery.
  • Highly developed project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability in addressing operational challenges and driving practical solutions.
  • Solid understanding of Intrepid’s operating model and DMC network.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, engage, and develop others within diverse, cross-cultural environments.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours when required and undertake regular business travel.
  • Bonus, if you have the following experience: Proficient in Spanish.
  • Strong cross-cultural awareness and understanding of international business practices and etiquette.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, project management, or a related discipline.
