Manage and provide real estate legal support for early- to mid-stage renewable and data center projects
Handle day-to-day legal tasks for a portfolio of projects, ensuring deadlines are met and risks are mitigated
Conduct and respond to due diligence inquiries to keep projects moving smoothly
Review, draft, and oversee outside counsel on real estate agreements—including options, ground leases, purchase and sale agreements, easements, and financing documents
Partner with internal teams to ensure agreements align with project goals and requirements
Provide real estate legal support for project design, permitting, interconnection, and offtake opportunities
Work closely with Land Acquisition, Development, Finance, and Construction to solve problems and unlock project progress
Take initiative on assigned matters while learning from senior attorneys
Contribute to the broader Land Legal team with flexibility, curiosity, and a solutions-oriented mindset
Requirements
J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice in Texas or California
At least 2 years of experience as a real estate attorney in a law firm or in-house setting
Familiarity with real estate agreements common in renewable energy and data center development
Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively with senior attorneys and cross-functional teams
Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Ability to work during all Pacific Coast working hours OR able to overlap a few hours with the West Coast team
