About the role

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of high-volume transaction data across multiple systems including BI tools, General Ledger, travel booking platforms, payment processing systems, and banking records.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner to ensure financial integrity of loyalty program transactions.
  • Validate the financial accuracy of travel redemptions, ensuring points usage aligns with cash values, supplier payments, and client settlement.
  • Identify potential fraud indicators or irregular transaction activity and serve as a point of contact for investigation and resolution.
  • Track and reconcile supplier commissions including amounts due, received, and reported.
  • Generate regular reconciliation reports highlighting status, discrepancies, trends, and financial performance.
  • Produce ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis to support Finance, Travel Operations, and leadership teams.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to track loyalty program KPIs, redemption trends, member engagement, and financial outcomes.
  • Deliver quantitative analysis on commission activity and transaction trends across channels, products, and fulfillment patterns.
  • Monitor data accuracy across systems and proactively identify inconsistencies within financial, booking, and reporting platforms.
  • Partner with the Data Analytics team and other internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve system or data discrepancies.
  • Pull and analyze source system reports to identify root causes of reconciliation issues.
  • Develop deep expertise in travel transaction data, loyalty program mechanics, supplier commission structures, and operational workflows.
  • Translate reconciliation findings into meaningful insights that support operational improvements and financial accuracy.
  • Deliver reconciliation insights using available tools to present clear, actionable information for internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for reconciliation activities including transaction records, receipts, payments, and commission tracking.
  • Support compliance reporting requirements, including ad-hoc analytics related to Canadian TICO reporting.
  • Ensure reconciliation processes align with internal financial controls and audit readiness standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, reconciliation, data analytics, or a related field (relevant internships may count toward experience).
  • At least 3-5 years+ of experience in financial analysis, with experience in loyalty programs, credit cards, or payments being beneficial.
  • Demonstrated accounting or financial analyst experience working with large transactional data sets, including reconciliation of payments, receipts, or financial transactions.
  • Hands-on experience using spreadsheets and reporting tools to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and support financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience within the travel industry, loyalty programs, or rewards platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Experience tracking and reconciling supplier commissions or partner payments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Canadian TICO reporting requirements or other regulatory reporting frameworks is an asset.
