CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Financial Analyst Junior to work in Finance Department.
Review and validate financial data from Country Mapping Templates and Pipelines to create and maintain Project Contract IDs (PCIDs) in the financial system.
Ensure timely and accurate input of ICC (Institutional Cost Classification) data and maintain the Elaboration Database (EDB) with high data integrity.
Monitor and update project financial records to support real-time decision-making.
Collaborate with the Financial Analyst in reviewing proposal budgets, ensuring alignment with CGIAR costing guidelines, donor requirements, and institutional policies.
Provide analytical support in budget formulation, identifying cost efficiencies and financial risks.
Assist in the preparation of budget narratives and justifications for donor submissions.
Upload approved project budgets into the financial system, ensuring consistency and accuracy across modules.
Support the configuration and maintenance of financial templates and tools used for project tracking and reporting.
Prepare and review financial reports for donors, internal stakeholders, and management, ensuring compliance with signed agreements and CGIAR standards.
Support donor-specific, internal, and external audits by compiling documentation, responding to queries, and ensuring audit readiness.
Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows and improve data accuracy.
Provide technical and procedural support to colleagues within PFMU and other departments.
Respond to queries from supervisors and analysts with timely and well-documented information.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, project accounting, or donor reporting.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation).
Familiarity with financial systems (ERP) and donor compliance frameworks.
Intermediate proficiency in English (B1 or higher CEFR).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
