Provide global counseling and subject matter expertise on a broad range of labor and employment issues across multiple jurisdictions (primarily U.S., U.K., Ireland and Australia)
Advise on compensation-related matters including compensation design proposals, commission plans, pay transparency compliance, wage and hour issues, and leveling/job architecture
Work closely with Stock Administration, Compensation and Benefits teams to support equity, compensation and benefits programs
Manage resolution of internal ethics and employee relations investigations, administrative claims and litigation matters
Stay current on changes to employment laws and regulations, conduct research and provide guidance on potential impacts
Draft, review and negotiate employment offer letters and contracts, templates, separation agreements, bonus and commission plans and other employment-related legal documents
Develop, update and maintain employment policies, handbooks, guidelines, programs and processes in collaboration with business stakeholders
Develop and deliver training to employees, managers and HR teams on ethics, compliance, investigations and best practices
Provide advice and guidance on privacy and data protection involving employees and job applicants
Assess legal risks and advise on strategic and programmatic initiatives impacting the global workforce to enable business agility
Requirements
10+ years relevant experience as an attorney with a law firm and in-house legal department
Extensive experience in employment law, including litigation management
Strong knowledge and understanding of U.S., Ireland, UK and Australia employment laws and regulations
Experience in developing and implementing employment policies, programs, compliance initiatives and training
Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of legal issues simultaneously
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
High level of initiative, flexibility, and adaptability
Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-first approach
Positive attitude, good humor, high empathy, and composure in challenging situations
J.D. degree from an accredited law school and California or Illinois state bar licensed attorney (or ability to be registered as in-house counsel if licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction)
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required
