About the role
- Design, implement, and optimize microcode features for Intel’s next-generation CPU microprocessors
- Define and develop innovative Architecture and Microarchitecture for Intel's next generation CPU Microprocessor
- Analyze existing developed code, understand and gather new requirements, develop new algorithms or changes required, document for review and communication
- Create and negotiate a development plan, write the code, and debug that code for functionality and performance requirements
- Interact and communicate with Architecture, Logic design, and Validation teams to achieve coding goals
- Support this code through tape-in and future steppings, either through patching or code rewrites
- Review others' code and help to improve group productivity and accuracy
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of experience
- Or a Master's degree in the same field with 4+ years of experience or PhD in the same field with 2+ years of experience
- Firmware development in CPU microcode
- Computer Architecture and/or Micro Architecture techniques
- RTL logic design using Verilog and debug using industry standard tools
- Linux shell, Perl, or Python scripting
- Experience simulator development using C++ x86 assembly programming
- Experience with performance analysis tools and techniques
