About the role
- Facilitate the team of clinical application analysts in the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of clinical applications, including electronic health records (EHR), clinical decision support systems, and other clinical software.
- Collaborate with clinical end-users, IT staff, and vendors to identify opportunities for improving clinical workflows and processes using technology.
- Leads system testing and validation to ensure the clinical applications meet regulatory requirements and user needs.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues with clinical applications, and provide timely resolution to minimize impact on patient care and clinician productivity.
- Maintains awareness of upcoming development, offerings, and solutions in the EHR System or other clinical application.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures. Ensure documentation is accessible to support staff and end-users.
- Works collaboratively with operational and medical staff leaders to implement and align strategic initiatives.
- Participates in all phases of the system development life cycle including development of use cases and evaluation of software solutions.
- Leads and facilitates the facility’s core clinical and business systems team on IT activities.
- Prioritizes based on understanding strategies, budget, epic, requirements, goals, and the value that project and tasks provide the business.
- Facilitation and mentor of other team members.
- Organizes and provides project management functions for small and medium project initiatives.
- Mentor other team member in round in collaboration with clinical and business end users.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience, or Associate’s with 5 years of experience, or 7 years of healthcare or IT experience.
- Basic understanding of healthcare workflows and terminology.
- Epic Certification is required (certifications may include: EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, Radiant, Cupid, Optime, Anesthesia, Grand Central or other relevant Epic Apps).
- Occasional travel maybe required.
- Previous experience using verbal and written communication to a variety of audiences through a range of modalities.
- Knowledge of clinical workflows and processes, and experience in implementing and supporting clinical software applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to clinical staff members and other stakeholders.
- Experience in project management and change management in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing preferred.
