About the role

  • Implement, configure, and maintain Epic and other clinical applications, including the electronic health records (EHR), clinical decision support systems, and other clinical software.
  • Collaborate with clinical end-users, IT staff, and vendors to identify opportunities for improving clinical workflows and processes using technology.
  • Participate in system testing and validation to ensure the clinical applications meet regulatory requirements and user needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures; ensure documentation is accessible to support staff and end-users.
  • Participate in testing and validation activities related to Epic software upgrades and enhancements; ensure system changes do not negatively impact clinical workflows and patient care.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues with clinical applications, and provide timely resolution to minimize impact on patient care and clinician productivity.
  • Keep up to date with solutions in the Epic System or other clinical applications.
  • Work collaboratively with operational and medical staff leaders to implement and align strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in all phases of the system development life cycle including development of use cases and evaluation of software solutions.
  • Participate in rounding in collaboration with clinical and business end users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience, or Associate’s with 2 years of experience, or 3 years of healthcare or IT experience.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare workflows and terminology.
  • Epic Certification is required (certifications may include: EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, Radiant, Cupid, Optime, Anesthesia, Grand Central or other relevant Epic Apps).
  • Occasional travel maybe required.
  • Previous experience using verbal and written communication to a variety of audiences through a range of modalities.
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows and processes, and experience in implementing and supporting clinical software applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to clinical staff members and other stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing preferred.
