- Join an inspiring, high-performing team of legal professionals
- Manage your own caseload of litigation matters effectively, with a particular focus on collections
- Collaborate with intermediate and senior lawyers on litigation files
- Handle a range of matters from start to finish across varied and interesting practice areas
- Prepare and submit an initial report and follow-up reports presenting your recommendations
- Initiate collection proceedings without delay and use the rules of civil procedure to promote the prompt and efficient progression of files
- Conduct the various stages of litigation efficiently and advocate cases before courts of general jurisdiction or administrative tribunals
- Negotiate settlements
- Provide verbal and written opinions on specific or general legal matters
Requirements
- Law degree and member of the Barreau du Québec for at least 1 year
- Between 1 and 3 years of relevant experience in civil litigation, particularly in insurance, liability, and collections
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills; knowledge of litigation steps; interest in advocacy; trial experience is an asset
- Sense of responsibility and ability to manage priorities, open-mindedness, and strong communication skills
- Negotiation skills and strategic judgment to recommend settlement approaches when appropriate
- Dynamic, efficient, team-oriented, with influencing leadership skills
- Willingness to travel; the role may require handling files throughout Quebec
- Bilingualism (French and English), both oral and written, is an asset
