About the role
- Lead a small team of 1–3 actuarial analysts while serving as both technical and project lead.
- Contribute to executing key actuarial objectives by actively participating in hands-on work, providing technical advice to team members, ensuring the quality of their work, and formulating appropriate recommendations to improve the performance of products and services.
- Manage the evaluation, development and coaching of their team members to achieve the company’s strategic objectives.
- Manage their team’s activities by organizing, planning and controlling the optimal use of human, financial and material resources according to company strategies and budget planning.
- Represent the actuarial function in various working groups/committees and act as a point of contact with other business units.
Requirements
- University degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Job-specific designation: Mathematics, Actuarial Science, FCAS or FCIA an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years experience, including 1 year of coaching (major asset).
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of actuarial techniques.
- Bilingualism is required for candidates located in Quebec considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
- No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
